Choosing The Right Free Weights For A Full Body Workout

Using free weights can truly give you a full body workout, offering the ability to be a part of routines that involve every muscle group.


You don’t need a fancy gym to get big muscles or just to tone your entire body up.  In fact, it’s not even about the quantity of the weight that you lift or the time you spend at the gym, but rather the overall quality of the work that you’re doing.  You’re going to find that there’s actually really no reason that you can’t see massive results just working out at home, so long as you’re doing the right things.  You’re going to find that so long as you’re prepared with the right type of routine, you can get in the perfect workout guaranteed, it just takes the right free weights to ensure you can get your body moving.

With the right type of weight routine, you’ll find that you’re able to add resistance in pretty basic ways, but the payoff is going to be incredible for the results that it will actually help you yield.  You’re going to find that free weights are the most ideal way to get in shape at home, and they present you with the perfect workout method right at your convenience.  But you do want to be sure that you’re picking the right types of equipment up to ensure that you can add the right types of resistance.  Here are some assets you definitely want to have in the home:

1) Adjustable hand weights.

First and foremost you want to have hand weights, as this is going to be the core of your workout, whether you’re looking for aids with bicep and triceps work.  But they are also necessities to have so that you can work on things like lunges and the like as well.  Plus with great models like the BowFlex Select Tech or Gold’s Gym Adjustable models you can actually adjust how much weight you’re lifting on the fly, so you can make the workout easier or harder as needed.

2) Kettlebells

4) Medicine balls

These are tools that have been around forever for a reason, and it’s because of the way in which they are actually able to work your core and the rest of your body as well.  What they present you with is the ideal way to build up muscle more naturally by carrying them, performing twists and turns, and also just by throwing them as well.  This way, you can get a full on workout, and really engage your arms like you just can’t do otherwise for results that are way better than you could expect from normal free weights.

5) But don’t forget about your workout enhancers

You’ll find that free weights are all well and good to have, but you want to ensure that you can make the most of them with the right types of tools.  One of the best to have in your arsenal being the exercise ball.  Sitting on the ball to perform different types of weight specific exercises can actually bring you a lot more resistance which in turn increases the benefits of the workout as well.  But you’re also going to find that by purchasing other basic items like workout balance Bosu balls, or also benches, you can add to what the weights can do, and more resistance or challenge is always a good thing.
